Sometimes big ideas get hatched on the back of a napkin. But it was a wink and a pinkie swear that set the wheels of the Women's Leadership Foundation(WLF) in motion.
Mona Hale, Valerie Nishi, Sheryl-Ann Stanjeck and Karen Radford made a promise to create a powerful learning and development experience for women that was distinctively fun, motivating and engaging. They wanted people to leave energized and equipped to take accountability for their lives and careers. To create some capacity in their busy world for laughter, reflection, critical thinking and dreaming.
They brought together a diverse team of passionate volunteer leaders and created the mission of the WLF: to celebrate, encourage and challenge women to embrace their full leadership potential by providing the opportunity to appreciate, build and connect with other women while investing in their personal and professional development. The innovative vision of the WLF aims to build connectionsnot just within industries, sectors or professionsbut between people and organizations from different backgrounds to support a learning community with much greater possibilities to unleash value.
Leadership, some say, is simply seeing what needs to be done and doing itdreaming big and inspiring others to make a difference.
It could start with a pinkie swear.
